Prayer #3 - Camp Committee

Father,

I pray that in the midst of all the work that we all have to do, that we remember to be still, and know that You are the Lord. Right now as the youth committee goes about seeking You for a camp theme, I pray again that You show us what You want us to learn as a team, and what You want us to learn as a ministry. Thank You, Father, for being faithful to us.

Father, I pray a simple thing today: that the camp committee members will be free to meet this Saturday afternoon at 3pm. They have not been contacted, but I pray that the meeting will happen, if not this Saturday, then on another day when all are free to meet. I pray for a good first meeting, with rapport built, and hands of friendship extended between Your youth who do not know each other yet, but who are all brothers and sisters under Your Lordship.

In Jesus Name,
Amen.

Prayer #2 - Thanksgiving for the Comm Pt II

Dear Father,

It's day 2 of the prayer log, and I'm already feeling the strain. Thank You for stretching my faith this way; I pray that I will not fail You.

Father I give You thanks for the additional manpower we have received in terms of "Yes" answers from Michelle Tay (Treasurer), Jeremy Eio (Logistics), Kenneth (R&R), Camelia (Progamme IC). Thank You for their willingness to serve. I thank You also for the people who have yet to respond: Lindsay (R&R), FanYang (Publicity/Publication), Charmaine (R&R) and Celesta (R&R) - I pray that You will speak to them with regard to their contribution to the camp, and I pray that Your will be done, not ours.

I thank You for the discussion we had on the theme; I pray that as the committee individually seek Your counsel regarding this, You will lead us to a central truth that You want us to learn as a ministry.

In Jesus' name,
Amen.

Prayer #1 - Thanksgiving for the Comm

Dear Father,

[THANKSGIVING]
I give You thanks for the 5 meetings that the Youth Committee has already had, and for leading us to where we currently are now, with regard to planning the camp. I thank You for the amount of ideas and brain-juice that has sprung forth from our discussions, and I pray that our future meetings might be just as fruitful.

[CAMP COMMITTEE]
Jesus, I want to thank you for the people who have agreed to come forward and serve in the camp committee.

For the Camp Commandant, Yuxun.
For the Treasurers and Registrars, Beverly Poon and Eddie.
For the Food/Accom ICs, Beverly Tan and Priscilla.
For the R&R IC, Rachel.
For the Transport/Log team, Dahao.
For the Publicity/Publication team, Ben, Shi'en, and Matthew.
For the Worship team, Jonathan Ee and Shixuan.
For the Programme IC, Esther.
For the Prayer IC, myself.

Father I give You thanks for bringing people who are willing to give of their time, energy and talents to You. I pray that You will speak to the entire committee, even as more people are challenged; that You will draw those who wish to draw near to You unto Yourself. I pray for barriers to be removed from their participation in this camp, and pray that Your hand continue to guide us as we move towards planning for this monumental event.

In Jesus Name I pray,
Amen.

First Log: Motivation and Gratifications

Hello. I've started this blog because I would like to keep myself accountable for taking up the post of being a prayer warrior for the youth camp 2005. As far as I am able to, I will try try try my very very best to post a prayer a day until the end of the camp. I have never really been a prayer warrior of this magnitude before, and right now, I'm worried about a couple of things:

1) I won't be able to pray everyday for the camp (consistency);
2) I won't be able to pray fervently and earnestly for the camp (quality);
3) I won't be able to get others to pray for the camp (contagiousness).

I will be the first to admit that I suck at praying, but I hold the role of the prayer warrior in high regard - it's the double S role: simplest but scariest. You're doing battle on a spiritual front (hey, there's another 'S' for you!) and that pretty much screws up (another 'S'!) the rest of your life if the devil wants to take pot-shots at the opposition.

So here's my plan. (So far.)

All days leading up to the camp will be numbered and allocated to Camp Committee members. Every day will be prayed for. Church members will be encouraged to sign up for the daily prayer thing too, but I'm going to make it mandatory for the camp committee to pray.

It's an evolving plan, and I'll post more once I've gotten more bright ideas.
